Goodbye

Dear Grey's Anatomy,
I have been a long time, faithful viewer. But it is
time to say goodbye. Last night as I was watching, my daughter came down from
her bedroom... Lars had to jump in front of the TV to permit Maddie from seeing
the scene before us.
You know you aren't watching the right stuff if you have to block it from
your kids.
I am ashamed of what is on your show now, and deeply
saddened. I wish I could watch you, but a phrase popped in to my head last night
as embarassment and shame flooded my face when I realized my daughter could have
seen such filth on public television at 8:45pm;

"If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things (LDS article of faith #13)"

So, GOODBYE, Grey's. You are not virtuous, lovely, of good report, nor praiseworthy, and so I must say goodbye. I will miss you, but sacrifice brings forth blessings from Heaven. I will anxiously be awaiting such a prize.

BUSY WEEKEND!

We're recovering from a busy weekend. The 25th year Personal Progress Celebration, an afternoon of judging girls for royalty at Smithfield Health Days, and a Sunday full of family and fun at Michael Martin's mission farewell! Awe, sweet recovery.

A List of DON'Ts

DON'T hit snooze 20 times before rolling out of bed 45 mins late when you have a PRE-OP for Maddie in Salt Lake City.

DON'T skip gassing up the car the night before bc you think you'll have time in the morning.

DON'T get glazed donuts for the kids to eat in the car, instead of unfrosted. TRUST ME.

DON'T keep your little girl in PJs with footies when you want her to WALK in to the hospital, or you'll end up holding 2 kids and 3 bags about 2 blocks.

DON'T panic when you are 45 minutes late to a meeting with the surgeon, or you just look like a babbling dorky mom in front of everyone in the lobby.

DON'T ask the doctor if you can skip the next appt because you don't want to drive down with 2 kids by yourself again, unless infact, you LIKE that "are you crazy?" look from the doctor!

Matter of fact, DON'T even make an appt (EVEN IF YOUR DOCTOR SAYS TO MAKE ONE 3 MONTHS POST-[1st]OP)because the doctor is just going to tell you that you wasted your time coming down because your daughter still needs 3-6 MORE months to recover from the last surgery.

And, most importantly, DON'T take 2 kids to SLC when you have a WICKED stomache bug and can't go to the bathroom without one escaping or crawling on the ground of the nasty hospital bathroom; because you'll then find out that you have to HOLD IT all the way to Logan.

Yeah, well, that was a REALLY FUN DAY YESTERDAY!

Oh, one more... DON'T post your personal stuff on your craft blog instead of your own blog. HAHA.

Where, Oh Where Can It Be???

I [HEART] MAX.

For real, that kid can do very little wrong.

He's pretty freakin cute just about ALL THE TIME.
The last few weeks Max has been very excited about throwing things in the garbage, which is a Catch 22. On one hand, I love that he's cleaning things up, but on the other hand, Max has been throwing away some things that are NOT GARBAGE!
For about a week we were missing our remote. We looked high and low for that silly thing and eventually just gave up. We thought for sure MAX had ditched it in the garbage can and we had taken out the trash without checking it.
Well, THANK HEAVENS, Max just put it in a random drawer. When I was going through the "Lid Drawer" on Sunday, I found it lurking below the dark shadows of Tupperware!
OH HAPPY DAY!
And instead of getting mad, like I probably would with Maddie, I totally brushed it off and said, "Oh, that silly Max!"
Talk about a double standard!
Max you ARE in trouble! You have melted your mommy down to a puddle of forgiving and blind-to-all-mistakes MUSH.
And, it's all good, Sweetie, I'll even keep handing you pancakes while I watch and laugh as you take out all of the chocolate chips (and don't eat the pancake) while I force your sister to eat two full pancakes.

It's that sweet smile...

Ohh my!

Easter

Yeah, I'm not sure how they are so freakin gorgeous. I must have been hiding some lucky genes to pass on!

Here's our sick photo from last week... We watched movies together. I found out the best way to get Lars to stay home for the day is to eat nasty old food with him the night before... haha.

Easter was super low-key and we felt bad not getting the kids enough (see pic below), so we hit the Easter clearance the next day and bought them HUGE EASTER BASKETS for 5 bucks! Well worth the wait and they didn't seem to care it was a day late.

Easter Egg Hunt with her cousin Bryson

and Jamison and Max...

Max is a COWBOY, BABY...

SO FREAKIN CUTE I COULD DIE:

"Hi, my name is Max and I can open the egg, retrieve the candy, and eat the candy (wrapper and all) in 30 seconds FLAT! "

Anyway, sorry I'm so late posting my Easter pictures! For one, we didn't have an actual church meeting on Easter, as it was General Conference and we got to stay home and listen to our Prophet and other church leaders speak and encourage us... So I didn't have the kids wear their Easter clothes until last Sunday. Then, my silly camera held my Easter pictures hostage in a raw format, and I was too lazy to convert them to JPEG to upload, until now... And last week we had horrible colds and a nasty bout with food poisoning, cause we like to eat old food that's been in our fridge for weeks, and some other things came up! Hahaha. So here's 2 weeks in pictures...

Goodbye, Meth House

Yup, we said our final goodbyes. We let the MethHouse go back up for sale, and we didn't even bid. That methhouse is just too much of a risk, even after abatement. I cannot trust it, even if it's proven to be "clean." Now we wait. We have another house in mind, but we're waiting for the right time to buy... Hmmm, when is the right time to buy???
