AHHHHHHH! We're dyin over here! Max is teething and WON'T stop crying! I've tried frozen teethers, numbing meds, tylenol, etc. NOTHING is working! Don't be upset if I don't answer the phone or call you... Max is crying so loud that I wouldn't be able to hear you! Here goes another night without sleep!!! (I'm SO over this!!!)
And what the HECK is up with my kids?! Can't they be normal and grow teeth at 12 months, NOT 5 months?!

I told you Max laughs...
Max was just cracking up, like usual, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to catch it on camera. Apparently watching Daddy and Maddie recycle plastic bags is just stinkin HILARIOUS!
Poor, Poor Max
My poor little Bundle of Joy has hives and blisters everywhere!!! I was sure it was due to my sunscreen negligence a couple weeks ago, but it has consumed his body... Then, I was certain that he was just reacting to a terrible case of pollen/allergies due to the season change.... Oddly enough, it was never in his diaper region, just the rest of his body so I was so confused...BUT OH MY!!! We found the true culprit today: OUR [new] LAUNDRY DETERGENT (switched a little over a week ago)! Max had a burpcloth in his lap and picked it up to shove in his mouth, as he loves to do, and everywhere that the cloth touched his mouth he immediately turned bright red and hives popped up. So, I didn't really believe how sensitive he was, but watched him wipe his eyes with it and his poor little eyes got all swollen and hives were immediately there too. Throughout the day we've watched him touch other things and just get progressively worse and worse! I even noticed that after nursing him the places that his face touched my shirt got way irritated and blistered! Well, I got him some Benadryl and am doing that every 6 hours but it's just so sad! I have a whole day of washing everything in the house ahead of me tomorrow! Towels, clothes, burpcloths, bedding, floor mats, mine and Lars' clothes... AGH!

I know you missed us....
Okay, First of all, I'm sorry it's taken so long for a new post, but Lars has been studying for finals and a huge FINAL SPEECH in his speech class and he robbed me of the computer for two weeks. Oh, and in keeping honest, I've been enthralled in the Twilight series (don't worry, I finally finished) and my extra time has been devoted to that. So, although this is a little late; better than NEVER, right??? So no complaining, just read on:
Max is growing so quickly. He's 5 months already, and SO much fun. Maddie and I just marvel at him all day long. He's been quite fun to watch, especially when it comes to coordination. He has figured out how to reach for something, and also figured out the quickest way to get that object to his mouth. The other day I was checking the time on my phone by clicking a side button, and in the short time that I looked down at my phone, Max snagged it out of my hands and had it in his mouth before I could even think about what had happened. It's pretty fun to see that he has such great hand-eye coordination, maybe he'll carry on being some awesome sporty child, where I just got kicked off the teams cause I was so shockingly uncoordinated.
He has grown a lot, and am actually ready to skip the heavy portable infant carseat and move him to a non portable one. He's just getting way too heavy, and he just looks WAY too big and uncomfortable in the carrier. He has also grown a "tuft" of hair on the top of his head... Which, if he weren't my child, I would think looks insanely ridiculous, but because he is mine I think it's super cute. You can be the judge, I started spiking it:
Oh, and yes, THAT IS DROOL. He's all boy. Apparently boys like to chew and drool like it's going out of style. He especially likes the zipper on his hoodie, hence all that slobber all the way down.
So, we (Grandma, Grandpa, Maddie, Max, Esa and her son Bryson, and myself) went to the "Second Chance" Baby Animal Days, which is just like the first round of Baby Animal Days, but $3 cheaper and the animals are like teenagers a whole week later. BUT STILL FUN. The kids were a pain by NOT SMILING in any pictures, really, and fought me over and over in even looking towards the camera, so bear with the pictures I got...
This one Maddie made me get the smaller turtle because the larger one I held prior to this one really freaked her out! She thought it was way too big and asked for the smaller one, even though she still would not touch it.
Oh, and I had this great idea to have Maddie sit by the beautiful blooming flowers, but failed to notice the child-proofing they had done in also allowing those crappy piercing thorns to be mixed in their garden! Thank goodness Maddie wasn't the one who stepped in one and watched the thorns dig in to her tough callused heel, OH-NO, THAT WAS ME. But, surprisingly, she allowed me to take a picture of her smiling, but no luck getting her hands off of her face.
So, I had another cute photo op to get a huge windmill behind her with the pristine blue sky, and here's the gorgeous face I got back at me. Thanks to Grandpa, Maddie thought that it turned in to a game (giving Mommy crappy faces) because he laughed hysterically at the kids when they didn't smile at me. This was an attempt to give her grouchy face. HAHAHA Scary, huh?!
We got to ride a pony, which was a FIRST for Maddie, and a HUGE deal to me. I thought she'd back out, but she was so excited. I love horses and thought it was awesome: I wanted to get on the one behind her, but there was a stinkin age limit. ha. Lemme tell you about that nasty helmet though... EWW! I was glad that wasn't on my head. They sprayed it with disinfectant before putting it on Maddie but the Germ Alarm was going off in my head making me nauseated. 50+ thoughts came into my head about what kind of diseases or gross bugs could be harvesting their larvae in it... Yuck.
Shortly after, though, I got over my germ fear when I took Maddie to go potty in the all-too-sanitary PORT-O-POTTY right up from where we were. I guess my fears were read on my face because Maddie REFUSED to sit on that pot! She pleaded "Not this one, Mom!" and so we ran to the next potty 0.25 of a mile away. It was all good, though...that potty was a flushing one in a very clean restroom that even I felt I could use. :)

Everything Easter
Thank Goodness for Playgroup! Maddie and her friends had an Easter egg hunt around Anna's basement and just had a blast!!!
They decorated cookies and went overboard with the sprinkles, which apparently, you can NEVER have enough of!
Easter morning was full of excitement when Maddie saw what the Easter Bunny brought... He even brought Lindt chocolate for Mommy and Snickers for Daddy. What a smart bunny!

This is why she has a mommy....
Here is the reason why Maddie may not dress herself under ANY circumstances. Yes, those are bloomers UNDER her tights. After putting this together we asked her why she was dressed like that... She told me she wanted to look like her dad. Wow! What a blow below the belt. hahaha.
I think Max's head has now surpassed the width of Maddie's. Do you see what is wrong with that? ...His body is still small...
Here's a cute one of my Baby Girl at bathtime. Her hair was so long... I had Tiff take some off. I'll get a good pic of her new haircut tomorrow.

Copyright Infringement
So we went to take family photos today and had a free 11x14 coupon. Which ROCKS because we have an empty 11x14 frame in our living room and FREE is an awesome way to fill it. So, we went to take a family picture for that and also get a few pictures for the parents and grandparents. Like always, they were running late at Kiddie Kandids, but that's cool, we hung out for awhile and walked the mall. When we returned, Maddie was looking a little uncertain of the idea still (last time she bawled and said she didn't like taking pictures at the store, only at home), so we watched another little boy get his pictures taken and that made Maddie feel a little better. Well, we got a few good ones and then she was VERY done smiling, so we decided to just be done. We did, however, end up with a couple that I just LOVED and that ended up being pretty satisfactory for me. So we got our 11x14 as a large family portrait and some smaller mantle-size pictures for the parents and grandparents. Of course, they were cropped and touched up a little better and this could get me sued posting them, but there you go: 
So, that's not the funnest part... Maddie was promised a cookie after we took pictures and we were standing in line getting ready to fulfill that promise when Maddie informs Lars that she needs to go potty RIGHT NOW! So we get ready to haul to the restroom when, in her very cute dress and shoes, she squeals "uht-ohhhhhh..." Yeah, my potty-trained princess was standing in a puddle of her own doing RIGHT in front of the cookie display. NICE. Of course she's been doing so well the last month that I didn't pack extra panties, and she peed all over her nice dress and through her bloomers and even into her shoe. Yeah, good thing I was with Lars and he diffuses very embarrassing situations so easily by just laughing at her and taking it as no big deal or I would have lost it. Very VERY funny. I took her in the bathroom and wiped her whole body down with baby wipes and put her in another dress and her tights (commando, naturally) and told her to inform us JUST A LITTLE BIT SOONER NEXT TIME!
