Dear Grey's Anatomy,
I have been a long time, faithful viewer. But it is
time to say goodbye. Last night as I was watching, my daughter came down from
her bedroom... Lars had to jump in front of the TV to permit Maddie from seeing
the scene before us.
saddened. I wish I could watch you, but a phrase popped in to my head last night
as embarassment and shame flooded my face when I realized my daughter could have
seen such filth on public television at 8:45pm;
"If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things (LDS article of faith #13)"
So, GOODBYE, Grey's. You are not virtuous, lovely, of good report, nor praiseworthy, and so I must say goodbye. I will miss you, but sacrifice brings forth blessings from Heaven. I will anxiously be awaiting such a prize.

You know you aren't watching the right stuff if you have to block it fromI am ashamed of what is on your show now, and deeply
your kids.

Way to go Chellie!! I totally understand, and I think it's awesome that you're giving it up. I had a super favorite and super popular TV show that I recently had to turn off mid-episode because of the content! Even though I loved the show in the past, I think I had the same conclusion. My thought was from the YM/YW theme video, "and when you stand for something right and stand alone." I think I like the 13th Article of Faith application. Great standard! Great reminder!
That's really funny you wrote that because my friend at school today said randomly (as I do not watch Grey's) "ya, and last night I think I decided I'm over that series. It's just not as good anymore and it's gotten a bit silly and racy" like I said, never seen it, but really must have been quite the show. haha. One of those funny timing things to have come home and read your blog. Hope the sacrifice works out, evidently for both of you.
Good for you! I do miss our Greys nights. I still watch the show but the kids are always in bed. One of these days I hope I have as much discpline as you. I think the show totally stinks but I have a hard time giving up my shows.
What an example you are. There is a reason you are YM President! I work nights and don't watch T.V. anymore, but if I did, I would give up my bad shows too. :)
Good for you Chell! I hate it when shows turn ridiculously scanky. My guilty pleasure is Glee, but I don't like it this season as much as last, so I don't think I'll have to worry about it much longer.
Way to go! Great decision you wont regret!
